Today was rather a busy day, which involved a trip down to Weybridge, Surrey, to hold meetings with two couples whose weddings I am performing at later in the year
First on the list was the Brooklands Hotel, ones of Surrey’s newest and most luxurious venues stooped in British Motor Sport history: the original Brookland’s Motor Course (race track) constructed in 1907, was the birthplace of British motor sport. A view from the hotel balcony gives an excellent view over the Mercedes – Benz World track and skid pans which must be the ideal venue for any Stag day out.
Harriet and Ross should have been married there last week, however, an operation to the groom meant they had to reschedule their special day to later this year. After a good look around the hotel a lovely cold drink and a moment to enjoy the sun, then if was off for a quick 3 mile trip down the road to Oaklands Park Hotel, an historic country house which became a hotel in 1856, and which stands on the site of the grand Royal Palaces of Henry VIII and Elizabeth I, the great cedar tree at the front of the hotel was planted by Charles I to celebrate the birth of his son Henry of Otelands
It was good to catch up with John and Mel who will be holding their wedding reception in the venues Drawing Room, and outside in the atrium, next month
It’s always good to meet up with the Brides and Grooms at their venues, and get a real feel for their wedding, and we can discuss their plans in more detail. Both couples seemed to have their arrangements well in hand, and I’m looking forward to meeting them again, just after they have been married
