Last night saw me performing at Sawbridgeworth Cricket Club’s Annual Ball, which was held in a marque on the pitch itself. The theme of the evening was the ‘Best of British’ and the marque was beautifully decorated in a red, white and blue colour scheme, including the lights which lit up the side of the marque in those colours. Union Jacks were in abundance, with memorabilia depicting famous objects associated with Britain, such as double decker buses, and the tables, rather than simply being numbered where named after iconic British bands including the Beatles, the Who, and theRolling Stones.
The events was superbly organised by Angela, who is the senior Wedding coordinator at one of the Wedding venues which I perform at regularly, so I was pleased that, with all her contacts, she chose me to entertain at this event. She certainly added her professional touch to the evening where everything ran like clockwork.
I performed ‘Mix and Mingle’ magic during the drinks reception as the guests enjoyed a ‘Pimms’ or two on arrival and the magic continued during the dinner, again a typically British menu, where I entertained diners with Close Up magic at the various tables, entertaining the guests with some baffling magic.
Once the music started I was able to entertain the bar staff, some of whom were members of the Cricket club, who up until then had only seem my magic from a distance.
A really enjoyable evening, performing for a really appreciative crowd of people, and judging by their applause as I left each table, they enjoyed my magic too.
