Yet another wonderful sunny day and it was a trip down to the Abbots Barn Hotel in Canterbury for the wedding of Gemma Stillwell – Cox and Gavin Firman, to entertain their friends and relatives with some Close Up magic during the drinks reception.

I had been told that Gemma’s dad was very keen to see some magic and before long he introduced himself to me and, judging by his dropped jaw and the unrepeatable words that slipped from his mouth, he rather enjoyed what I did for him: ‘baffled and amazing’ was the terms he later used

Word got around that I was performing and very soon I had large groups of people surrounding me and I think good fun was had by all. Fortunately, the weather was so nice I was able to perform outside both on the patio and on the lawns, moving between groups of guests

I am delighted to say that Gemma posted onto my Facebook page, Kevin Bird Magician,
