It was lovely for the newly married Mr and Mrs Horsfall, whose wedding I performed at on Friday, to take time out, before flying off to the Dominican Republic, to send me the following message via Facebook, from the airport Hi Kevin, Thank you so much for making our special day even more memorable. It’s not just the Bride, Groom and their guest who open their curtains first thing in the morning and look up at the sky to see what the weather’s like. Another beautiful sunny afternoon today which I spent at Newland Hall, a beautiful wedding venue in Roxwell, in Essex. The site dates back hundreds of years,The first reference to Newland Hall (rather than just Newland) was made in 1447. Original records exist for Manor Courts held at Newland Hall from 1448 onwards. A phone call from Rick Mallett asking me to perform at his wife, Carina’s, 50th Birthday party, took me to the delightful venue of Cuddington Golf Club, set in 166 acres of beautiful Surrey downland. It was a lovely cool evening as about 80 members of family and friends gathered to celebrate with Carina, many of whom took advantage of the weather and gathered outside, enjoying the lovely views over London, the Wembley arch could be clearly seen, and that was 16 miles away.
