A phone call from Rick Mallett asking me to perform at his wife, Carina’s, 50th Birthday party, took me to the delightful venue of Cuddington Golf Club, set in 166 acres of beautiful Surrey downland.

It was a lovely cool evening as about 80 members of family and friends gathered to celebrate with Carina, many of whom took advantage of the weather and gathered outside, enjoying the lovely views over London, the Wembley arch could be clearly seen, and that was 16 miles away.

I mingled outside among the guests performing ‘Mix and Mingle’ magic right under their noses and also entertained those who chose to stay inside with close up magic at the table, a thoughly enjoyable evening with a very appreciative audience and some lovely comments about my magic, which is always nice to hear, and a few people were following me round trying to work out how I did it!!

Rick told me that his wife was a shopaholic, and this was reflected in the cleverly designed birthday cake, he had organised, pictured below
